About Us

We met while working together in Special Education, and quickly realized how many parents don't understand their rights to services and support. Navigating the Special Education system can feel murky and confusing when you're new to it, or even if you're a seasoned veteran of the system. While schools & teachers do their best to support parents & children, it's easy for them to overlook the nuances that come with the system, because they live and breathe it daily. Our goal is to help you understand your rights and responsibilities so you can ensure your child is receiving all the services they have a legal right to receive.

Testimonials

Heidi
I originally hired Lucia as a tutor for my daughter who has special educational needs. My daughter had been struggling with her grades and no longer had a desire to go to school. My daughter struggled with dyslexia, autism, and adhd. After meeting with us and getting to know my daughter, Lucia asked if we had an IEP in place. She suggested that we advocate for my daughter by way of her IEP and suggested we make adjustments to accommodate my daughter’s executive functioning skills. I asked Lucia to look over my daughter’s IEP and make any suggestions that may improve my daughter’s success with schooling. She provided us with a few suggestions that we brought up and implemented at my daughter’s next IEP meeting and my daughter has been doing much better since. Most importantly, through Lucia’s encouragement, my daughter has become more empowered in becoming her own educational advocate and asking for help when needed. We really appreciate the unexpected, yet invaluable information and support that Lucia has provided us. Thank you so much Lucia!

My daughter recently got an Autism diagnosis. She is five years old. As a parent this can be a scary and isolating experience trying to navigate all of it on your own. Lucia & Sarah helped me navigate laws, my rights as a parent, and my daughters’ rights as a student. They provided me with all the tools and information I needed to help my daughter, especially in school. I currently live in New York state, and they researched the laws and presented them to me. I HIGHLY recommend both for any special education services you may need.

"My daughter, who was diagnosed with Autism, was just beginning to start preschool and I was extremely overwhelmed about going through the PPT process. Sarah was more than willing to explain what happens at these meetings and what my rights, as a parent, were so I could effectively advocate for my daughter. She answered all my questions and validated my concerns. It made the whole process less stressful. She continues to be the person I go to with any questions regarding my daughter and her education!"
We would love for you to share your experience!
